Ni hao Chinese sympathizers, I am staying in Beijing, China for one year to get familiar with different kinds of rice sorts, learn how to throw chopsticks, practice spitting and riding a bike without tyres .. or is this sheer nonsense? I'll clear you up!

Harbin (Jan. 19-22)

After our examination period we simply had to leave Beijing to see another place other than our four square meter-rooms and experience the -20-degree warm weather in Harbin. As you can see from the pictures, we visited the International Ice and Snow Festival as well as the 19th Sun Island International Snow Scultpre Air Fair. Harbin is covered in snow and ice around this time of the year with tons of lights. Besides it hosts a lot of Russian bars and restaurants. Bortsch (Russian vegetable soup) and Vodka are plenty and good! We stayed in dorms with Russian students who gently host their vodka next to their tooth brush! Russian odol, I figured. A little further below, we took a lunch break at the very famous "jiao zi" restaurant. More or less, it is all about meat wrapped up in different kinds of dough, fried, boiled, steamed etc. One of a kind folks!

Tea break against the coldness!

The longest snow sculptured wall in the world!

Vodka shops in town.
